GYROTONIC® exercise is an original and unique movement method that addresses the entire person, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion, and improving strength, and movement efficiency. The method is practiced in group or private classes under the instruction of a qualified Gyrotonic Trainer. With the exercises, each movement flows into the next, allowing the joints to move through a natural range of motion without jarring or compression. These carefully crafted sequences create balance, efficiency, strength and flexibility. Specialized machines lend support and resistance to the body, informing and enhancing the exercises in different planes.

GYROKINESIS® exercise is the practice of Gyrotonic without the equipment.

A Gyrokinesis class is typically taught in groups, in various positions: sitting on a stool or chair, on the floor, and standing. As in Gyrotonic, the movements flow with rhythm using breath, and emphasizing spinal and pelvic articulations, but without added weight.
