ABOUT CHRISTA

A professionally trained dancer, Christa Thiesing is a Fully Certified GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS®  Instructor, and Certified GYROTONIC® Pre-Trainer, whose love of movement has persisted throughout her life. Christa's dance education includes Princeton Ballet School,

Ruth Page Center for the Arts, Chicago City Ballet, Ohio Ballet, National Academy of Arts,

and Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she pursued her B.S. in Ballet. Christa has taught ballet at the Joffrey School and Broadway Dance Center, and is on faculty at Steps on Broadway.

A dancer for life, Christa turned to Gyrotonic exercise to help her address her own weaknesses and imbalances in her body, and to prolong her dancing. Her body awareness and curiosity serve as a basis for her teaching; being able to identify and empathize with peoples' physical issues has a been a true gift.

​

Christa works with a wide range of private clients, ranging from professional dancers and preprofessional dance students, to seniors, athletes, pre and post natal people, and more. Group classes offer her a chance to experiment with flow and sequencing, reminiscent of choreographing from her dancing days. Most significantly she enjoys seeing the transformation that people’s bodies and minds undergo when practicing Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis exercise on a regular basis.
